St. Valentine's Day

We all spent a gorgeous night there in the
summer and so where better to spend
St. Valentine's Day than our favourite
secluded and secret venue? We'd like to
invite you to bring your Valentine or your
best friends to an intimate evening at The
White Cliff's cafe in Saltdean.
It looks like it could be a wild and windy
night and we thought we'd embrace it by
spending it right there on the beach - but
cosy and well-fed with an almost
completely aphrodisiac menu...
As usual, we'll be choosing some of the
menu for you with a starter platter of
aphrodisiacs, followed by a (pre-ordered if
possible!) a la carte menu and then a
dessert platter to get you going before a
coffee and marzipan (almonds really do
the trick apparently)...

Freshly shucked rock oyster served on ice with lemon with a glass of crisp Cuvee flanne sparkling
wine from the Loire valley
(V) Fennel and basil sorbet with a crisp glass of Cuvee flanne sparkling wine from the Loire valley
followed by...
Asparagus and pine nut ravioli with a garlic truffle cream
Avocado and coriander with lemon basil and rocket cress
Shot of oyster mushroom and roasted shallot soup

Lightly cured and roasted cod supreme on fondant potato with a pancetta crisp, pan fried curly
kale and pea and lemon sauce and carrot ‘noodles'
Rare Scottish beef fillet in rich jus with buttered caramelised parsnip and shallot and slow braised balsamic baby onions and garlic
(V) Tandoori haloumi and red onion brochette with beetroot risotto and a rocket, celeriac and smoked almond salad
